Modern vehicles are quieter, better insulated, and loaded with audio systems that drown out the world outside. Add headphones, in-car entertainment, and the reality of an aging driver population, and the result is a collision risk that traditional sirens and lights simply cannot overcome. Emergency vehicle safety research indicates that a substantial share of crashes involving emergency responders occurs at intersections — the moment when drivers fail to yield right-of-way in time.
Source: National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and NFPA fire service injury reports have documented intersection risk as a leading factor in emergency vehicle collisions. EVA's design directly targets this documented gap.

EVA is the solution.
EVA is a mobile-first public safety platform that delivers real-time, agency-authorized proximity alerts directly to drivers - inside the vehicle, on the device they already have, in the moment it matters most.
When an emergency vehicle goes Code 3, authorized responders activate EVA with a single tap. From that moment, the system continuously transmits live GPS location data to the EVA cloud every one to three seconds. Nearby drivers with the EVA app receive an instant alert: a visual banner, a haptic vibration, and approximate distance and direction - all before they could ever hear a siren.
When the run ends, the alerts stop. No noise. No fatigue. No spam.
Police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel activate Code Active on their authorized department device when responding to an emergency. The app securely authenticates the user and device, then broadcasts vehicle position in real time. When the call is complete, a single tap ends the broadcast. No hardware installation required. No CAD integration complexity. It works on the mobile devices your team already carries.
Available for free on iOS and Android once released, the EVA driver app is designed around one principle: intelligent restraint. Alerts are planned to activate only when the app detects the user is actively driving, using speed and motion pattern recognition. Parked drivers, people at home, and pedestrians would receive nothing. When an active emergency vehicle enters a dynamic 0.25 to 1.0 mile alert radius, the driver is designed to receive a clear, calm notification with direction and distance context. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support are planned for hands-free, eyes-up awareness in the vehicle, subject to platform certification requirements.
Agency administrators manage device authorization, monitor active units, review incident history, and control billing - all from a secure web-based dashboard. Adding or revoking access takes seconds. No IT department required.

With transparent SaaS pricing, no hardware requirements, and a 60-to-90-day no-cost pilot program, EVA is designed to eliminate barriers to adoption that have kept smaller departments from accessing modern alerting technology.
